Gmund's Old Town invites you to a historical tour. Here you will learn interesting facts about the rich history of Gmunden with its famous carillon at Gmundner Rathausplatz and leisurely walks along the promenade to Seeschloss Ort. A visit to the “Gmundner Keramik Manufaktur” holds interesting facts about the production of Gmundner ceramics. You’ll even have the opportunity to paint your own ceramics.
In the salt worlds of Hallstatt, Hallein and Altaussee the exciting story of salt mining is impressively described to the whole family.
Culinary delights are provided by the “Traunsee Wirte”. They prepare traditional dishes and tasty dishes made from local produce and serve them in selected tradititional restaurants in the area.

Traunsee Boat Trips
A boat trip on the Traunsee with the steamship "Gisela", Austria's first listed ship, is a special experience for the whole family.
Traunsee Schifffahrt offers scheduled services, excursion boats and cultural offers for all seasons. Visit the Seeschloss Ort, which is located on a small island in the Traunsee and is one of the oldest buildings in the Salzkammergut.

Only 900m from our house is the valley station of the Grünberg cable car, taking you to 1000m to the popular recreational area Grünberg, where you expect 20 kilometers of well-developed hiking trails, the treetop path, an exciting knowledge trail on the summit of the Grünberg and cozy rest stops. Around the Traunsee and in the Almtal you will find hiking trails, pram hikes, challenging mountain tours and climbing opportunities. The well-known Traunstein, the "guard of the Salzkammergut" invites with three different ascents, such as the Naturfreundesteig, the ascent of the Mairalm and the Hernlersteig with spectacular views from the summit.

From a relaxing family day at the lake to sailing, kite and windsurfing, canoeing and wild water rafting. Around the Traunsee you will find countless opportunities for water sports. In the immediate vicinity (about 900m) of Villa Traunseeblick is a public beach.

Numerous bike tours offer the opportunity to discover the unique beauty of the landscape around the Traunsee and the Salzkammergut on the bike. From the leisurely sections to the sophisticated pieces, there is something for every taste and every condition. For mountain bike fans 1500 km of developed mountain bike trails such as the Dachsteinrunde, are offered. For race bike fans, the area around Traunsee is one of the top 7 race bike destinations with 20 selected tours in the area. For those who love the downwhill biking adventure: from the Feuerkogel there is a 5.6 km long downhill track.
